THE
KEN STANDING AWARD
The
Ken Standing Award is presented biennially by the
University of Manitoba and Sponsors of the Enabling
Technologies for Proteomics (ETP) Symposium to honor a
young scientist who has made a significant contribution to
technology development in support of research in the life
sciences. Nominees are expected to be 45 years or younger
at the time of nomination. The award is presented at the
ETP Symposium and includes a $5000 cash award and a
commemorative sculpture. The award winner will be a
featured speaker at the symposium. The award honors the
career of Ken Standing, Professor Emeritus at the
University of Manitoba, who was a major figure in the
development of time-of-flight mass spectrometry for
bioanalytical applications. The 2009 award will be
presented in Vancouver at the 4th International Enabling
Technologies for Proteomics Symposium on May 14, 2009. The
selection committee will include peer scientists and
the ETP Scientific Advisory
Group.

1. A
short description, to a maximum of four pages, of the
achievement outlining the technology contribution and
impact to research in the life sciences.
2. Nominee's CV.
3. A copy of two of the nominee's publications relating to
the technology.
4. Supporting letters from two individuals.

one-inch margins and 8 1/2" x 11" paper.
